Leadership Retreat Breaks Records

Once again, the Walker Creek Ranch Conference Center between Petaluma and the coast was the site of the Founder Region Leadership Retreat for District I through V. With fantastic weather and a large number of attendees, the June 28 and 29 gathering was a great success. Approximately 180 people were in attendance for at least one day of the event. Members from clubs bonded with one another, met and got to know members of other clubs, and even viewed wildlife up close and personal.
Friday's registration and dinner were followed by a historical (hysterical) program about Founder Region through the years, featuring Past Governors Carol Rose, Linda McDoniels, Susan Joyce, Del Nickerson, and Patsy Daniels. Afterwards, members congregated in their lodges or at the camp fire area where they enjoyed S'mores and dodged the smoke.
Saturday morning's program included Founder Region Committee Meetings and workshops which were open to everyone. They included:
- Developing Effective Leadership, led by Michele Copeland
- "Mike" Is Not a Four Letter Word, led by Sue Finch
- Networking, led by Joy Broughton
Following lunch, Club Officer Training and a General Membership Meeting were held.
