Turn "Dreams Into Destinies"
Judy Dykes, Regional Foundations Chair

What is Foundation Fundraising all about? It provides the funds for the Women's Opportunity Awards, Violet Richardson Awards, Domestic Violence Initiatives, and Making a Difference for Women Grants.

Founder Region was once again very generous with their support of The Foundations Project. We raised over $9,500 in 2000-2001 with raffle ticket sales and donations at Conference. Our thanks to all of you!

For the second year of our biennium, the Foundations Committee has chosen the theme "Dreams Into Destinies". We challenge each club to come up with the most unique raffle items ever to be put into a tote bag or basket. These totes or baskets must be more compact this year, as all of us (except for the Kona club) have to fly and carry to Kona and home! A suggestion might be to assemble your tote or basket once your arrive in Hawaii. They must be able to fit under an airplane seat, such as a carry-on, or put into checked luggage. Remember, "Good things come in small packages!"

Remember that the value of your raffle item should be $125 to $150. Please put your club name on the item you bring to Conference. Sunday morning the items will be checked in and put on display. The tickets will be drawn from one pot on Sunday morning after the award presentations.

Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00, and are being distributed at District Meetings. Clubs are to send ONE "club check" payable to Founder Region, along with the completed stubs, including club name, to the Foundations Chair. Deadline for the money and tickets is April 1, 2002. An "Early Bird Bonus" - Any clubs that sell all tickets and send in one club check by March 1, 2002 - will get a free book to six tickets with their club name put on the stubs, and entered into the drawing.

If and when you need more tickets, please contact your Foundations Chair. I will be happy to help you. Let's make this again, the most successful year ever! Thank you again for your support of the Foundations Projects.
