Soroptimist Foundation

Judy Dykes
Region Foundations Chair

The Foundations Committee has been working on the second year of our biennium's Foundation Project Dreams Into Destinies. It will be fun to see what all the clubs have come up with for their tote bags or baskets at Conference in Kona, Hawaii, this year. Remember that the value of your raffle item should be $125 to $150, and that the deadline to return money and ticket stubs is April 1. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00, and were distributed at District Meetings in the Fall of 2001. Clubs are to send ONE "club check" payable to Founder Region, along with the completed stubs, including club name, to the Foundations Chair. We are hoping to hit the $10,000 mark this year, as we raised over $9,500 in 2000-01 year with raffle ticket sales and donations at conference.

The programs that the Soroptimist Foundation supports are Women's Opportunity Awards, Violet Richardson Awards, Focus on Domestic Violence, and Making a Difference for Women Grants. We are hoping that most of you have seen the new video that is out The Soroptimist Foundation and You... Making a Difference for Women. It is an excellent tool to use in showing all Soroptimists what the Foundation is all about.

Thanks to Governor Carol for the opportunity to chair this committee this biennium, and to all the members of Founder Region for their continued support of our project.

Judy Dykes
Regional Foundations Chair
