New S Clubs Abound

Joyce Suihkonen
S Club Chair

S Clubs are Soroptimist-sponsored organizations that give high school students an opportunity to provide service to their schools and communities. These clubs also help students develop leadership skills, promote good citizenship, and advance goodwill and understanding.

This has been a very successful biennium for the Founder Region S Club committee. In September 2000, the Pittsburg High School was resurrected. In 2001, Soroptimist International of Guam, Eel River Valley, and Pleasant Hill all chartered high school S Clubs. And three more clubs have already been chartered in 2002, one in Healdsburg and two in Vacaville. The committee recently developed a list of eight easy steps that walk Soroptimist clubs through the chartering process. It's never been easier to charter an S Club in Founder Region.

If you would like to receive more information about S Clubs, contact Joyce Suihkonen at 707-449-5468 or e-mail .
