A Farewell Message from Governor Carol

picture of Governor Carol Rose Dear Founder Region Members,

This will be my last letter to you as the Governor of Founder Region which makes me a little sad and a little glad. I'm going to miss being your governor but happy that I will have more time to spend with my family. It has been the most rewarding experience in my life and I haven't regretted one moment. I thank you very much for electing me.

Some exciting news, Founder Region has chartered five S clubs (so far) and on February 23, 2002, we chartered SI of Fremont. Many thanks to Joyce Suihkonen, S-Club chair, Susan Joyce, Member Services chair and Jo Ellen King, president of our newly chartered club. Thanks, also, go to those responsible for your new S clubs.

Conference will be here very soon and Kona, Hawaii, is a wonderful place to have our meeting. The magnificent setting will lend itself to a fruitful, learning experience. By now you all have your Call to Conference so you can see all the events, programs and workshops were very well thought out and planned. There's even time for some fun! Mary Huebner, our Conference Coordinator has done an excellent job. I have also asked her to make this as authentically Hawaiian as possible from the opening ceremonies to the Memorial canoe service and to the Soroptimist pledge spoken in Hawaiian.

There are so many of you to thank for a successful biennium. Special thanks to Governor-Elect Mary Ann, Secretary Amelia, and Treasurer Cathy who gave me the support, understanding, love and help when I needed it. You are all outstanding women. Thank you to the District Directors. You made every one of the districts grow under your leadership and training. Excellence was your goal and you all achieved it. Thank you to the Region chairs and committee members. You accomplished all that I asked and then some. I can only say with all of your participation and aid you made the job of governor easy.

I met most of my goals and the one I am most proud was that I visited every club in the Region during my two years (66 clubs). All of you accepted my visits with a lot of warmth and friendship. You are all truly wonderful members and it has been an honor and a privilege to be your governor.

Last but not least, don't forget me. Please invite me to your meetings, inductions, installations and fundraisers. I will have more time to come.

Love ya' all.
      Governor Carol
